Harper's death certificate that took us forever to get

This is Harper's Death Certificate. A few things to point out on this document. Harper's Mother's name is listed as Annie O'Hare but is really Annie Adair. Also, Harper died of Cirrhosis of the Liver even though he was not a drinker. In fact he would not allow alcohol in the house.

A few other names to note on the document. The Undertaker was George Atkinson and the Doctor was Dr. Oaks. Also, the certificate was issued and signed by Robert Wilson.

Harper's Land Patent

Harper received a Land Patent under the "Free Grant and Homesteads Act" on May 5, 1902. He received Lots 7 and 10 Con. 4 in Cardwell Twp. Muskoka. He would have had to fulfill certain obligations such as clearing so much land and building a house in a specified amount of time in order for the Grant to be issued. He did fulfill these obligations and in 1911 Harper was granted the properties and received Title to the land. The above document shows that he was already settled on the land as owner and in 1911 Harper and Hannah sold, to Dr. Samuel A. Foote of Rosseau Ontario, all the bark, trees and timber on Lot #10 for $75.
